Leave the house of my parents for the first time, any tips or advice?
I am planning to go this winter if all goes well. I just turned 20 and only I really need my independence. I live in New York. moving to Manhattan from Queens and I found a place. Can anyone give me some advice? I'm very nervous although it will be a few months before it happens. This is the first time to live without my family. And I'll go to college (junior) and work. would be good too to share experiences or advice.
My advice would be to give a copy of a key to your new place for their parents. I remember when I moved house, and he did. Some nights when I get home after work, would be pleasantly surprised to find my fridge and cupboards stocked with groceries, along with a note from my mom and dad. I miss them as they have disappeared. Never regretted it.
