The unwanted gift
Parker Lee went to the signing stage with that voice of hers who could do opera arias so special that you can not deny that his was the talent of a rare breed. It was on this occasion he sang the role of Othello at the Metropolitan that he felt the presence of all those who throughout his career he had supported, sometimes even more than he had. What was a glorious moment for him not only as a professional singer, but as a person was something that perhaps he only really felt when her sister Kim had a clue. As it was she who through the gift he had given his brother had so many years ago inspired (perhaps directly) to become the great operatic tenor now.
It was not so much that particular performance, which was giving no importance to anyone but himself, but had been 20 years since the day he received the gift from his sister who had changed his life and the direction it was coming and all that had influenced his career were there. This included his teacher's first signing. She Getty who initially had Albert referred to as "Frau Hitler" because of their strict way of working that would later learn to appreciate.
Naturally, with this day to be of consequence to him many other people who had studied in New York with the School of Music has come that included Bill Getty son along with their friends without But this was a special occasion for other reasons. Besides the father and the sister of Parker, who was also his mother and friends (with whom he grew up with) that this action had been so important to him. After of which decided to have a party at her Park Avenue apartment to which all who were close to him had been invited to enable it to conclude that this had received many years ago, telling how he had led to its becoming an opera singer.
Othello was the role that both appreciated as it allowed his passion for flow, but not for reasons that could be jealous as this desert was only because he was a character as he was black. Not that he something in it that opposed the Caucasus play characters as Macbeth or Tristan as he had done so many times in the past, but something about playing a character of his own race he felt he got something in the roles of others simply did not. Of course, these traits to be the leader that he felt he could wishes to be and not to kill his loving wife who had been for many years, in addition to being loyal to your boss, along with the mother of his two sons, Othello and Teresa. They also are present in this most special occasions in their desire to not only see his father perform, but in order to decide whether the opera was something that none of the care to continue as a career. This taking into account that both were thinking of the following majors in music, although not quite sure weather or not to enter New York School Music or perhaps in some study of jazz more. As for Othello that he was very impressed with the opera, but was not sure if his voice could handle these roles. Teresa on the other hand was younger than his brother for a year and was even less decided that his brother not only as to what type of music to take time, but it raised at all. As concerned that mean having to make too many sacrifices on their time that she saw not have much if she were to make music as a profession.
Chapter Two
The opera came to an end as Othello, the role he was playing he committed suicide after he has killed Desdemona, whom he had believed to be unfaithful, only to discover he had been more than a trick of not only man he believes that his friend (Casio), but of his own mind. It was moments like this that partly lived. The crowd rise from their seats to thunderous applause in the form provided they did and the launch of roses on stage and all the cast members came out to take his curtain call. This is done in a sequence that saw the singer with the smallest paper came out first followed by those with a role that leaves him be the last to join the rest of the cast that had been moved to another audience. There was some camaraderie that never stopped developing between him and those who performed with him, which is always appreciated as one of the best things about your profession singer opera.
He cherished being something that was almost as much as any other part of what he did, knowing that he and those around them (some of which were strangers to him at first) had all combined their talents and abilities to reach a performance that truly dazzled an audience. It is to some extent it was something that had become routine for even gave that took place night after night though, although it never had seized enjoy it. After all, tis … you know what "Jennifer said, as it was so relaxing and soothing, they sat side by side on the couch feeling the company of the other, and who enjoyed a brief moment of romance while preparing to leave again for the winter cold of December.
"That's Jen, but I feel I should give her something even if it's probably not going to get me anything, but just the same a bit would be fine but what? Not even have much more left, but still I feel I should make the effort anyway. "Parker responded almost seemed to feel better after that what his mind concluded. It would be like killing to birds with one stone as it would be giving your sister a present and get to listen to Miles Davis, and his favorite jazz musician. How many times had looked over the collection of Miles Davis CDs for being too expensive but now had a reason that is not the same to spend on it. He would be the cultivation of his sister or something I could always tell if they were unhappy with him and ultimately but she hated it as such were the chances that she could still hear their favorite music. Of course, there was always a small chance that she might like, but although she does not care what you did from the best of his knowledge that he would not be getting anything anyway. She also had himself as a job but had not said anything about getting him a present and visible the way it spends money on cosmetics and clothing was an indication that he used to ensure that it would be unwise to expect anything from her beloved sister in this Christmas.
Jennifer and Parker came into the place of employment, where he was instantly recognized by those who worked with him yet as said hello to his mind was occupied in the compilation of Miles Davis had set his mind on. I could almost see himself sitting in the living room of his parents' apartment listening to this great jazz musician in the HIFI he knew that both please his father. I mean sometimes parents buy their kids games education that may know their children will not like much, but to get them to that … "." Did you mean to bring culture and learning of their children? "Jennifer stepped in to see your point, but do not really agree since there was a small factor had not seen or perhaps did not want and be what is mentioned after he answered: "Yes it is to see to see what I mean.." Kim both wanted to see the face of her brother that she even wait to open their gifts just to not miss seeing how his brother would react to getting a gift from his instincts told him would never have expected to obtain for anyone, least of it. Kim looked like he did you could feel the their enthusiasm rather than his brother, who was a big surprise when you open one of the greatest gifts of his life had hitherto known. Kim, however, for his part in any other time have not responded to this present, but who had spent what your budget was too much for a gift for his brother and although he had received a sound team could use, she felt had been misled. It was something I could not explain, even to herself she was still uncomfortable with the gift she received, even knowing what to say than "thank you" in a way that combined self-consciousness and a certain confusion as to the reason for this gift to someone like her, whose musical taste hardly could be further from this type of music.
Parker in all this was too caught up in their joys of the season that included not only the gifts given him, but he had received from even taking into account the reaction of her sister. In all reality it would be unfair to say Kim was furious with his own brother to give her something that she did not like I had use of the family stereo but it was something he wanted to return to his brother in a similar manner. She could always say that did not love his brother to listen to the CD that had given him, but then again his father could say he did not want to use what was really his stereo.
There was something in mind that all could not escape the feeling that something must be done to show if not just her that she was also capable of horseplay or at least to see his brother what he should have known and what they appreciated the fact that something does not mean that everyone else had to. As if the world celebrated the culture so much that could be treasured however, this does not mean that one had to, because in all reality could have bought a book that would enjoyed even refrained from doing so, giving his knowledge that his brother told him that was different taste.
It was actually during those moments of sitting around the room, listening to jazz music from his father and his brother enjoyed it so much that his mind was made to get some revenge for this gift and although she did not say anything to understand what was coming, she would get her only brother of the same kind of presents she could claim a part of the culture. Kim however, knew exactly what would be yet had an idea of what she has always considered the so-called superior culture that she found boring, but some it seems that was not.
Of course for her was also words of his brother in connection with the culture that had deteriorated to the point to say something in retaliation still felt that perhaps the wisdom dictates that the point had to be best expressed in the actions. It was with this objective in mind that she went to the closest CD store where she quickly turned to the classics section. She is one who knew nothing about opera or even the name of any of the composers and the operas he had put into his mind to ask. It was not long for a man to approach her and ask how could help in a conversation that went as follows.
Seller: I can help you, miss?
Kim: Yes, I like to buy a CD or two of the lyric.
Seller: Is there a specific or an opera composer has in mind?
Kim: Well, I know nothing about opera, but let's say I want something that is long and various pop music below.
Seller: Well, there are many operas I can recommend, but do you have any idea?
Kim: Do not ever, so I need your help, but we will say this. I want to get my brother a gift and I thought opera was for him.
Seller: I see your brother is an opera fan.
Kim: No, that's not all, see my brother gave me one last jazz album Christmas, so I want to get something I know will not like so you can see how it is to get something you do not.
Seller: Ah, I see. That is strange, so you want to bore your brother and let me see what is the last opera I would recommend to someone who is not an opera fan?
Kim: Any Italian opera would be good.
Seller: Ah, I see that you want the Italian opera.
Kim: Is not every Italian opera?
Contact: Not at all, actually there is the German opera, the French, Russian opera, opera and even Polish American opera.
Kim: You're telling me there are such thing as American opera?
Seller: Yes, there is even a Gershwin's jazz opera called "Porgy and Bess. "Have you heard the song" Summertime "by Gershwin?
Kim: Yes, why do you ask?
Seller: Well, it was a part of the opera "Porgy and Bess", so you want to get one for your brother?
Kim: Well, not really that perhaps did not give Like Miles Davis CD I have but it says that the opera do you think is the most difficult to listen to someone who is not an opera fan?
Seller: Well, most people try to buy something to please anyone, but let me see what I can get for him would not be so easy to hear and who knows you really like?
Kim: I hope not, but who knows. I am a want to teach you a lesson that I do not want gifts or you are not going to be for him.

Kim: I like Othello and Macbeth, when he was in school, I remember reading Othello again just to me after reading for school. Do you know what I think Othello and I'll have you know that you like but not or do not really hope not. See the truth is that I gave the jazz disc itself what may turn out that these CDs can be for me instead of him.
Seller: Well, that's an interesting concept of gifts, but would like to see Macbeth as well?
Kim: Yes Why can I not be two of them. (Kim CDs Seller samples of both Macbeth and Othello, Kim looks good.) Oh, look at this, not that this famous opera singer What's his name?
Seller: Yes, it is Pavarotti.

Kim: That's true and I thank him. I do not know he had black opera singers in the opera black people.
Seller: Well, I am more than happy to have helped in his selection for that will take?
Kim: The three of them and say that Othello, Macbeth and one on the slave.
Contact: Aida I think you mean?
Kim: Yes, that is the one you said and I like that name.
Seller: It would be funny if because of their CD became an opera fan.
Kim: Yes, I guess you might even become an opera singer. I was thinking of becoming a jazz singer so who knows she has a different flavor in the music.
Seller: Well, I hope you enjoy them or not and it's really nice plays, so that all?
Kim: Yes, this is it and where I can afford?

Kim continued to believe that the seller shows his brother what he was to achieve this one really did not want or really did not fit the personality despite what others may appreciate it. Naturally, as was the case with most of the gifts he gave it was wrapped in it and handed it to his brother as he had done the previous year when there were Christmas Day arrived. However, a surprise was completely different in mind who gave you this present to his brother and while waiting for it to open, in a sense felt was helping his brother to gain in the culture, because she really was the family who had a taste for literature class even if not in this music accompanied occasion.
Parker for his part, opened his gifts from his sister, although he was almost in shock at what he saw he did everything possible to hide any disappointment or say anything that your sister could take as negativity in this well-intentioned or perhaps not so well, but definitely culturally motivated music.
